II Branch Motorcycle Rally - Motobud 2006

From the 8th to the 10th of September 2006, II Nationwide Construction Branch Motorcycle MOTOBUD Rally 2006 was held. This time, the enthusiasts of two wheels met at the Training and Conference Centre in Jachranka on the Zegrzyński Reservoir near Warsaw to enjoy themselves on a less formal ground for two days in the sunshine and a splendid atmosphere.

And what was it like?

There were more than 110 of us on 80 motorcycles. The weather played a trick on us only on Friday. Some guests managed to come on "dry wheels", others had to use the heaters - fortunately - installed in the cottages. However, as early as at 10 p.m. - i.e. the time of the inaugural dinner - the clouds split and no raindrop fell until Sunday.

During the first evening, the chilled and wet participants of the rally were warmed up by the rock rhythms of AC/DC played by a band called "4 szmery". We finished the party quite early – about midnight, since the next day (Saturday), we were supposed to go on a tour to the Fortress of Modlin.

Besides getting familiarized with the history of the fortress, we managed to see the ruins, basement, museum and casino, where Russian officers used to play. The way to those placed ran sometimes through cart-tracks, which for some of us ended with a small adventure ;-). We also participated – unfortunately, only as passive bystanders - in a performance of the fight for the fortress, in which several hundreds of supernumeraries from Poland and Ukraine fought. One of the ladies that sat beside me said to her friend: "It is so boring; the battle is held at the same place every year; couldn't they move it somewhere else?". Fortunately, she did not attend the rally. :-)

On Saturday, the participants of the rally were surprised once again – by a demonstration of road rescue with an emphasis placed on giving first aid in the event of motorcycle accidents. A lot of us had an opportunity to test ourselves in the basic actions related to saving the human life. It turned out that it was not easy at all to remove a helmet from the injured motorcycle rider's head - to avoid damaging his/her backbone...
In the evening - which already became the tradition of the rally – music and dancing. This time, karaoke was something new, which became very popular among us. Especially concerning songs, which - to express it nicely - are little rock-like ;-). Songs were dedicated and sung endlessly... The last dancers, after long negotiations with the poor DJ, went off the floor at four a.m. and the organizers did not rest until the last participant went to bed.
The healthier attendees left the rally on Sunday morning. Those, who were not in a hurry, saw the castle in Pułtusk, had some good fish near Serock and went home in the afternoon.

All enthusiasts of motorcycles and the broadly understood building construction branch/industry: manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, architects and friends may take part in the Nationwide Construction Branch Motorcycle MOTOBUD Rally. Our first meeting was held in August 2005 in Borków near Kielce and it inaugurated the tradition of the branch rallies.
