How you can check molecular sieve - Delta T tester?

Specers

Until recently spacers were merely an element of insulating glass unit structure, with no significant impact on the glass properties.
For several years glass manufacturers have been offering panes with a steadily decreasing U-factor (heat penetration). As recent as in the mid-90's the standard glass pane U-factor was U = 3,0 (W/m2K), but now the U-factor for over 70% of the manufactured glass equals U = 1,1 (W/m2K) or even U = 0,8 (W/m2K).
The use of such glass panes enabled an unfavorable reaction. The heat exchange between the indoor and outdoor environment moves from the center of the insulating glass unit to its edges where heat penetrates considerably quicker due to the presence of a thermal bridge. The result is a vapor appearing around the window frame at just a few degrees below freezing point.

This phenomenon may be limited by:

  • raising indoor temperature
  • reducing indoor humidity
  • improving indoor ventilation
  • by using spacers made of lower heat conductivity materials.

Apart from our standard and attractively priced aluminum spacers we also offer:

  • steel spacers
a under 0.25 mm thick side space frame, which is characterized by a heat conductivity factor four times lower than aluminum spacers

  • spacer bars aluminum

a frame coated with a butyl strip

  • hidden perforation
This innovations lie in the fact that there is no visible perforation on the spacer. Thanks to this the spacer bar inside the IG unit is (if there is one) window bar and window profile are identical. Till this moment it was claimed that in order to ensure proper durability of the IG unit the spacer bar wrapped with foil should be perforated. It negatively reflected in aesthetics of the product. It turns out that foil isn’t any barrier for the activity of the molecular sieve towards the internal part of a window, it only slows down the process. Suitable examinations made by the Institute of Glass and Ceramics in Cracow admit the possibility of using such spacers in the IG units production. It is recommended to fill up the IG units with argon or to season them within several days (it refers only to late autumn and winter months) during production phase.
